The band lineup is set for the Freedom Fest celebration in Junction City July 3 - 7, 2024. The headliner will be Molly Hatchet, who will perform Saturday night, July 6th.
Nate Butler, Freedom Fest Co-Chair, said that Molly Hatchet is a 70's - 80's southern rock band. "Their big hit was Flirting with Disaster back in the 80's so we're excited about them coming. They've been drawing big crowds all around where they've been traveling the nation."
Hells Bells: an AC/DC Tribute Band, will perform on the night of the 6th prior to Molly Hatchet.
The remainder of the band lineup for Freedom Fest will include:
--Wednesday, July 3: Revelation: A Tribute to Journey and Get Lucky: A Tribute to Loverboy
--Thursday, July 4: Best of Motown Tribute Show and Arena Rock Giants: Multi-Tribute to the Greatest, and Biggest Artists of All Time
Friday, July 5: Goddesses of Rock: A Tribute to Female Icons and The Original Silver Bullet: A Tribute to Bob Seger
-- Sunday, July 7: Cross Point Worship and Jordan St. Cyr, who is one of the top performing Christian artists.
Side shows include the popular Foam Guy and a dog show.
Wee Carnival will operate their carnival during the celebration, Freedom on Wheels will be July 6, Freedom Run July 4th and fireworks are set for 10 p.m. July 4.
The Freedom Fest Parade will be July 4. Jim Sands, President of the Black History Trail and a former Junction City Commissioner, will be the Parade Grand Marshal. There will also be a Veterans Ceremony July 4.
There will be a military static display during Freedom Fest and numerous food vendors including Greek To me, who was popular in recent years. There will also be craft vendors, where approximately 25 to 30 slots have been signed up and more can still sign up. Coors, Crown Distributors, will be the cereal malt beverage provider.
