LYON COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 9:30p.m. Monday in Lyon County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Toyota Corolla driven by William D. Bond, 60, Emporia, was southbound on Interstate 35 approximately four miles south of the Matfield Green service area.
The driver had a medical incident. The car left the roadway, traveled through the ditch and struck a tree head-on.
EMS transported Bond to Newman hospital where he died. He was properly restrained, according to the KHP.
