FIre in SUV spread to garage in Manhattan

RILEY COUNTY—A fire that started in a vehicle caused considerable damage to a garage in Manhattan.

Just before— 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, crews were dispatched to a fire at 2017 Green Avenue in Manhattan, according to a media reelase.

Upon arrival, crews found a detached two-car garage with heavy smoke showing. The fire was contained within 10 minutes. The garage contained a 1996 Ford Bronco.

The fire started in the Bronco and spread to the garage. The fire cause is accidental due to an undetermined failure in the engine compartment. 

Loss is estimated at $2500 to contents and $50,000 to the structure. The owner is listed as David and Angela Motley. There were no injuries reported.
