Geary USD 475 Superintendent of schools Dr. Reginald Eggleston listed multiple items where the school district will need to pick up funding cuts by the legislature. They include mentor teacher reimbursement, national board certification reimbursement, safe and seure schools reimbursement, and the professional development reimbursement.
Eggleston noted that those allocations used to come to the district. "They will no longer occur going into the 25-26 school year. " Eggleston made it clear that all of the programs will continue to occur.
The superintendent also informed the Board that a 7.4% increase will happen in insurance and USD 475 has been told to plan for a 10% increase in both gas and electric costs.
