ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for alleged theft.

Just before 4:30p.m. Monday, a 35-year-old victim reported the theft of a Polaris Scrambler four wheeler, ramps, and a jack from the 1000 block North 10th Street in Atchison, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

The theft occurred sometime between Saturday afternoon and Monday afternoon. The four wheeler was valued at $3,500.

An investigation determined that 60-year-old David Barajas lived next door to the victim and had taken the four wheeler which was parked outside the victim’s residence.&nbsp; 

Just after 8p.m. Monday, police took Barajas into custody at his residence in the 1000 block North 10th Street.&nbsp; The four wheeler was recovered in Buchanan County, Missouri.
