Shirley’s life began on October 27, 1935, in Herington.  She is the daughter of Harry and Elsie (Brockmeier) Schlesener.  Shirley is a 1953 graduate of Herington High School and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School.  She was united in marriage to Keith D. Longabaugh on June 14, 1953, at St. Paul’s Church.  Along with being an active member of the church, Shirley enjoyed the church’s quilting club, sponsoring the youth group and preparing food for church events. She loved to do crafts and with her sister Sharon took their crafts to shows.  She enjoyed traveling with Keith and her family.  Shirley is fondly remembered as an outstanding gardener, mowing her lawn and the neighbors, too.  She was a strong and determined wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

  Her loving family includes her children Dr. James (Michele) Longabaugh of Sabetha, Jerry Longabaugh of Wichita, and Cheryl (Jason) Webb of Monett, MO.; grandchildren Matthew Longabaugh, Jordan Longabaugh, Jake Longabaugh, CJ (Blake Wachter) Longabaugh, AJ ( Grant Sorenson) Longabaugh, Maggie Hull, Tyler Webb, Nathan (Kelsey) Webb and Emily Webb; great grandchildren Willa and Lauretta Hull and her siblings Sharon (Larry) Senner, Glen (Darlene) Schlesener and Donna Jean ( Dale) Koontz and several nieces and nephews.

  Shirley passed away on Tuesday June 8, 2021, at Herington Municipal Hospital.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 years Keith, daughter in law Michele Longabaugh and her sister Carolyn Stewart. 

 Shirley’s family will gather with friends on Saturday, June 12th from 5-7 p.m. at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Herington.  Her funeral service will be Sunday June 13th at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church led by Pastor Bill Neuman.  She will be laid to rest in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Ervin "Jack" Salzman, 87, of Milford, KS, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Valley View Senior Life Center in Junction City. Cremation has taken place. Gary Lee Johnson, age 84 of Leonardville, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.

He was born on April 29, 1937 in the Pleasant Hill Community, the son of Irving and Gerna (Siebold) Johnson.  He graduated from Leonardville High School.

On January 17, 1961 in the Parish Hall of the Riley Presbyterian Church, he married Shirley Jo Hageman.

Gary owned and operated Johnson Welding and was a blacksmith, welder and fabricator.  He enjoyed conversations with the coffee crowd in Leonardville and taking bus trips to the casino.  In his younger years, he liked to hunt and fish and play golf.  Going to auctions and collecting antiques were also an interest to him.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Johnson of Leonardville; one son, Gregory Johnson and wife Sun of Manhattan; one daughter, Sue Knight and husband Mitch of Leonardville; two brothers, Gail Johnson of Waterville and Mike Johnson and wife Cindy of Leonardville; one sister, Sharrie Peterson of Keats; two grandchildren, Jesse Knight (Deidre) of Council Grove and Whitney Knight (Jeff Huber) of Leonardville and two great grandchildren, Braelyn Grace Huber and Karson Lee Huber.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Earl Peterson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Fairview Presbyterian Church with Pastor Gerry Sharp officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.

Yadon, lifelong resident of Council Grove passed away June 4, 2021 at Morris County Hospital.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was born June 20, 1953 to Carl and Dorothy (Krause) Yadon in Council Grove. &nbsp;Glen enjoyed farming, buying and selling livestock, working many years along side his father.&nbsp;&nbsp;He enjoyed gardening and was known as a wheeler and dealer.

Glen married Michelle Garrett and from that union, they had a son, Baylor.&nbsp;&nbsp;They divorced.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Glen later married Pam Siegrist.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Justin Yadon.&nbsp;&nbsp;He is survived by his wife Pam; son Baylor Yadon; brothers: Kenny Yadon and wife Coleen and Keith Yadon and wife Gail; sisters: Kathy Meierhoff and husband Paul, Kandie Daniels and husband Jeff, and Kim Engel and Tim; 2 grandaughters; as well as nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Donna Lee Diskau, age 90 of Riley, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.

She was born on April 15, 1931 on a farm in Northern Riley County, the daughter of Paul and Myrtle (Simnitt) Specht.

On May 19, 1949, she married Dean L. Diskau in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death April 27, 2002.  Donna and Dean were best friends and partners.  They enjoyed their yearly trips to Arizona during the winter months and bringing home some of the treasures found on their outings.

Donna was a homemaker and took care of the books for her husband’s construction company.  She was a board member for the Manhattan Public Library and enjoyed playing bridge and golf with “the girls” on a weekly basis.  Donna was active in the Riley PTA while her daughter was in grade school and was instrumental in starting the book rental program.  She loved to knit and was a very accomplished seamstress.

She is survived by her daughter, Constance (Connie) Diskau of Riley; two grandsons, Jarrod Wege Sr. and wife Jennifer of Manhattan and Robert A. Wege and wife Heather of Newton; four great grandchildren, Jarrod Wege Jr., Jenna Wege and James Wege of Manhattan and Lakin Wege of Newton; one sister, Beverly Sundgren and husband Eldon of Leonardville; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Specht of Topeka and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Leland Specht; three sisters, Ila Simons, Kaye Blodgett and Shirley Higgins and three brothers-in-law, Walter Simon, Duane Higgins and Warren Blodgett.

Terry Jon (Hoop) Hooper, age 58, of Manhattan, died June 4, 2021, at Good Shepherd Hospice House. He was born October 7, 1962 at Memorial Hospital, Manhattan, Riley County, Kansas. The son of J. Lester and Olive (Shoup) Hooper. He grew up in Keats, Riley, Clay Center and Manhattan, Kansas. Terry attended Riley Grade School, Clay Center Garfield Grade School, McKinley Middle School, Marlatt Elementary School, Manhattan Junior High School, and Manhattan High School (1980). He graduated in 1981 from Manhattan Area Vocational Technical School in Auto Mechanics. As a child, he was a member of Cub Scouts and Webelos. He played tee-ball, baseball, and football. He was baptized and confirmed a member of the First United Methodist Church of Manhattan. During his high school years, he worked on refurbishing an antique auto body frame and later built a work truck. Terry worked for Murdock Chevrolet, Bob’s Glass, Powell Brothers’ Plumbing, installed solar panels, Cheney Construction, and Marker Brothers’ Construction, among others. He started TJH Handyman business and built his shop building. He was proud of his tools, equipment, and vehicles. Terry became a registered general contractor. His wide range of knowledge about construction and carpentry was utilized in building many houses, commercial buildings, cabinetry, handicap ramps, decks, fences, and sheds. He even built furniture. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #2 and the Fraternal Order of United Commercial Travelers. As an adult, Terry helped coach his friend’s daughter’s tee-ball team. He enjoyed fishing with his friends. Terry was a good son who for many years helped his parents with their vegetable garden. He enjoyed the rose bushes by his back door. Friday evenings were spent with his friends. Family gatherings were important to Terry. A woodburning stove was a relaxing and cost-effective way to spend a winter evening. Over the years Terry had dogs and cats as his special buddies. Cooking was something he learned from his mother. He was good at making meals in the slow cooker. The parents and siblings enjoyed his specialties of, from scratch, cherry cheesecake and lasagna. Having a sense of humor and being a loyal friend were traits he had throughout his life. Terry loved being at his home. The youngest of 5 siblings, he was their little “buddy” and grew into a good friend to them. Terry helped the family with many automobile and handyman chores, imparting much knowledge on these subjects in the hopes they would be able to accomplish these tasks when he was not available. Terry worked very hard in his life to succeed in overcoming various adversities and roadblocks. He was a hard worker as an employee and in his own handyman business. He treated customers fairly and gave them quality workmanship. Terry Jon (Hoop) Hooper

Jarold’s life began on March 13, 1938, the son of Jerry Anton and Esther Anna (Essig) Barta in Salina, Kansas. He graduated from Salina High Class of 1956 and attended one year of college at Kansas Wesleyan in Salina. He married Donna Marie McCullough on September 1, 2001 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.&nbsp;

He was a salesman for Pepsi, owned an A &amp; W, Frigid Queen, a motel, City Plumbing and Miss Lizzy’s. He enjoyed working, was a member of First Christian Church where he was a trustee. He was also a Chamber of Commerce Board and Motel Board member. He and Donna enjoyed traveling around the country and Turkey.

His loving family includes his wife of the home; daughter and her husband Rhonda and Robert Woods of Woodbridge, Virginia; stepchildren, Jennifer Del Rio (Alex) of Wichita, Kansas, Ellen Spencer (Chuck), Jeremy Thiessen and Jason Thiessen all of Potwin, Kansas; grandchildren, Michael, Victoria, Valerie, Adrian and Aja.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Russell Barta and a sister, Katherine Heck. Jarold passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the age of 83 years old.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 12, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 15 S. 1st Street, Herington. Interment will be held at the Bennington Cemetery in Bennington, Kansas at 4:00 p.m.

Dale, 83,&nbsp; passed away November 15, 2020 at The Crossings at Flower Mound in Flower Mound, Texas.

Dale was born June 19, 1937, in Junction City, Kansas, to Marvin and Grace (Huston) Burris.  

He graduated from Junction City High School in 1955. 

Dale married Nancy Weak on June 7, 1964 in Abilene, Kansas.  They had two children Rodney and Jennifer.

He worked a variety of jobs including volunteer fireman for Geary County and Township trustee for Smokey Hill Township. In 1993, Dale retired as a Civil Service employee from Fort Riley.  He was a 40 plus year member of First Baptist Church, Junction City, where he served as deacon, trustee, Sunday School teacher, Youth Director, and Awana Commander.  

He is survived by one son, Rodney Burris, of The Colony, Texas; one daughter, Jennifer Crossman, of Junction City, Kansas; three sisters, Susie Parsons and Nancy (Ron) Metz both of Michigan, Helen Hartung of Wichita, Kansas, one brother, Carl Burris of Clay Center, Kansas, one sister-in-law Michiko Burris of Junction City, Kansas and four grandchildren, Kyle, Cody, Nathan and Rebecca.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Grace Burris, his wife, Nancy Burris and two brothers, Earl Burris and Derrell Burris.

Julia Herman, 63 of Abilene passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Wakefield Care &amp; Rehab. She was born June 22, 1957 in Kankakee, Illinois, the daughter of Merritt and Grace (Massey) Kinsman. Julia also has 4 grandsons (Kaleb, Noa, Hunter, and Owen) and one granddaughter (Piper). She was preceded in death by her parents, son, David Worthen, brother, Randy Kinsman and a sister, Donna Raymond. 

The family has chosen cremation. A private graveside service will be held at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Solomon for family and friends. Muriel A. Wyman, 95 of Abilene passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Abilene. She was born in Sutphen, Kansas January 4, 1926, the daughter of Marvin and Alice (Picking) Gfeller. In 1942 Muriel was united in marriage to Arthur Eye. They later divorced. He preceded her in death in 1979. She was later united in marriage to Kenneth Wyman in 1962. He preceded her in death in February of 2015. Muriel was a housewife. She was a lifelong member of the VFW, an avid doll collector and enjoyed playing bingo.

 Muriel is survived by her son Daniel Eye and wife Dana of Abilene: Daughter, Cheryl Tyler and husband Martin of Abilene. Four grandchildren: Michael Fuller, Missy Blacketer, Marcy Reiff and Matthew Tyler. Seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Widler. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Arthur and Kenneth, one sister, Lt. Colonel Helen Gfeller, a brother, Platoon Sgt. John Gfeller and daughter-in-law, Sheryl Eye.

Donna Lee Diskau, age 90 of Riley, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.

She was born on April 15, 1931 on a farm in Northern Riley County, the daughter of Paul and Myrtle (Simnitt) Specht.

On May 19, 1949, she married Dean L. Diskau in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death April 27, 2002.  Donna and Dean were best friends and partners.  They enjoyed their yearly trips to Arizona during the winter months and bringing home some of the treasures found on their outings.

Donna was a homemaker and took care of the books for her husband’s construction company.  She was a board member for the Manhattan Public Library and enjoyed playing bridge and golf with “the girls” on a weekly basis.  Donna was active in the Riley PTA while her daughter was in grade school and was instrumental in starting the book rental program.  She loved to knit and was a very accomplished seamstress.



She is survived by her daughter, Constance (Connie) Diskau of Riley; two grandsons, Jarrod Wege Sr. and wife Jennifer of Manhattan and Robert A. Wege and wife Heather of Newton; four great grandchildren, Jarrod Wege Jr., Jenna Wege and James Wege of Manhattan and Lakin Wege of Newton; one sister, Beverly Sundgren and husband Eldon of Leonardville; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Specht of Topeka and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Leland Specht; three sisters, Ila Simons, Kaye Blodgett and Shirley Higgins and three brothers-in-law, Walter Simon, Duane Higgins and Warren Blodgett.

Bruce Edward Marshall, 82, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2021, surrounded by his wife and three children.

Bruce was born on June 19, 1938, to Orris and Dorothy Marshall in Clay Center, Kansas. He grew up on a farm just outside the city in a house built by his great-grandfather. His only sibling, Keith, had been stillborn, so Bruce was raised as an only child but maintained close relationships with many cousins throughout his life. He enjoyed playing the baritone with a small orchestral group in his high school and graduated near the top of his class.

His family was devout and attended church any time the doors were open, and as Bruce grew older, he took a leadership role in the Conference Methodist Youth Fellowship. His grandmother Tippin had a particularly strong influence on his faith and had long desired for Bruce to become a minister, but Bruce himself didn’t feel the call to ministry until his freshman year of college. After receiving an English degree with a minor in religion and philosophy from Kansas Wesleyan College, Bruce went on to attend seminary at Drew Theological School in New Jersey where he received his Master of Divinity.

Bruce had grown up attending the same small church in Clay Center with his future wife Janice, but they didn’t begin dating until college. Once they were together, however, it didn’t take them long to know they wanted to get married. Bruce sold his baritone to buy Janice a diamond ring, and they became engaged on February 13, 1959. They married later that year on August 30. Together, they had three children, David, Stephen, and Becky, and formed a strong ministry team as they served in the United Methodist Church for 39 years. In total, Bruce pastored at ten churches, primarily in his home state of Kansas.

After being diagnosed with Meniere’s Disease, Bruce retired in 1998, and he and Janice moved to Olathe, Kansas and lived near their daughter Becky and her family. They enjoyed several trips together, including a trip to New England to see the fall foliage, one to California for the Rose Bowl, and one to Arizona to meet their great-granddaughter, Audrey.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Orris and Dorothy Marshall, and brother, Keith Marshall. He is survived by his wife, Janice Marshall; his children, David (Brenda) Marshall, Stephen (DeAnna) Marshall, and Becky (Jon) Burrell; his grandchildren Chris (Ginger) Marshall, Ruthie Burrell, Jamie (Matt) Meier, Joel Burrell, Josh (Haley) Marshall, Nathan (Heather) Marshall, Isaac Burrell, and Lydia Burrell; and his great-granddaughter Audrey Marshall; as well as numerous cousins and friends.

After receiving an English degree with a minor in religion and philosophy from Kansas Wesleyan College, Bruce went on to attend seminary at Drew Theological School in New Jersey where he received his Master of Divinity.Bruce had grown up attending the same small church in Clay Center with his future wife Janice, but they didn’t begin dating until college. Once they were together, however, it didn’t take them long to know they wanted to get married. Bruce sold his baritone to buy Janice a diamond ring, and they became engaged on February 13, 1959. They married later that year on August 30. Together, they had three children, David, Stephen, and Becky, and formed a strong ministry team as they served in the United Methodist Church for 39 years. In total, Bruce pastored at ten churches, primarily in his home state of Kansas.After being diagnosed with Meniere’s Disease, Bruce retired in 1998, and he and Janice moved to Olathe, Kansas and lived near their daughter Becky and her family. They enjoyed several trips together, including a trip to New England to see the fall foliage, one to California for the Rose Bowl, and one to Arizona to meet their great-granddaughter, Audrey.Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Orris and Dorothy Marshall, and brother, Keith Marshall. Helen Eileen Clark, 101, of Manhattan, Kansas, went to her heavenly home Thursday, June 3, 2021. Helen was born October 3, 1919, in Lovington, Illinois to the late Agnes Lela (Gharst) and Albert Brown. She graduated from Hammond High School and later attended business college in Decatur, Illinois. She married Jewell Aden Washburn on August 17, 1943, in Vancouver, Washington. After Jewell passed away in April 1973, Helen wedded Floyd Hinton Clark on July 19, 1975. Helen served as executive secretary to the president of Manhattan Federal Savings and Loan Company for 18 years. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church, Man-Kan Campers, The Order of the Eastern Star, and the D.A.V. Auxillary. Helen was a faithful churchgoer, taught Sunday School, Bible classes, and served in many church activities. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, making photo albums, traveling the country RV camping, playing dominoes, croquet, and cards. Helen is survived by her daughter Judy Breymeyer of Edmond, Oklahoma, and son, Roger (Sue) Washburn of Centennial, Colorado; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Roger Glenn Boelling completed his earthly journey on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Herington Municipal Hospital. He had suffered from several illnesses since January 2021 and was finally overwhelmed by a month-long bout of aggressive cancer. He joins a heavenly band of KU fan family members who have gone before.

Roger was born in Abilene, Kansas but lived in Herington almost his entire life except for moves to Prairie Village, KS and Cedar Rapids, IA to follow his dad’s railroad career before returning to finish High School in Herington. He worked for a short time in Hutchinson after college, fortunately that was just long enough to meet his future wife. They met at a singles dance and, as Roger said: “I think she knew I was the one and she convinced me!” He married Helene Missildine July 20, 1968 in Hutchinson before moving back to Herington. They were married for 50 years until her death on September 8, 2018.

Flowers, music, reading, and walking were some of Roger’s hobbies.&nbsp; His interest in music was first demonstrated at just six years old when the Feb 27, 1948 Council Grove Republican reported that the annual 4-H achievement banquet show “was stolen by tiny tap-dancing Barbara Granzow and Roger Boelling, who appeared in colorful costumes” before the 300 in attendance.&nbsp; He regretted quitting his piano lessons after 5th grade, but music continued to be important in his life.&nbsp; Roger served for four-years as drum major of the University of Kansas Marching Band under Band Director Russell Wiley from 1962 to 1965. &nbsp;Therein began his lifelong support of University of Kansas athletics.&nbsp; He was an avid reader his entire life and participated for many years with the Herington Book Club.

Life was relaxed while he was growing up with lots of time for playing and learning.&nbsp; Holidays were important as were birthdays. He played with the neighborhood kids, rode bikes, played with his pets, and even made a scooter out of an orange crate and roller skate wheels. In High School, he tried to do well in the classroom, be involved in school activities and clubs. He served on Student Council, high school productions and was a basketball starter in High School.&nbsp;

While in high school, he worked as a soda-jerk in Gaylord “Red” Edwards’ Rexall pharmacy. There he became interested in pharmacy as a career. Fortunate for us, he graduated with a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Kansas in 1966. He first worked as a Pharmacist at Coberly Drug in Hutchinson Kansas. He moved back to Herington in 1968, this time as a pharmacist for “Red”.&nbsp; In July 1970, he purchased the pharmacy and continued to operate Boelling Pharmacy at 7 North Broadway until April 1981 when he moved and expanded it into the former Duckwall’s store at the corner of Main and Broadway. In 2014 he sold the Pharmacy. He retired in 2019 after a 53-year career as a pharmacist.

During his years as a pharmacy owner, he returned Edwards’s favor by providing many, many Herington students their first job as a soda-jerk at one of the few remaining soda fountains in Kansas.&nbsp; Many other area folks can attest to his kindness and personal attention when he would make after-hours trips to the store to fill/deliver prescriptions to those in need.&nbsp; He also had a “flexible” extended payment plan when prescription costs sometimes exceeded folks’ budgets. He was a compassionate, behind-the-scenes helper who did many things in the background to help Herington area residents. &nbsp;

Throughout his life he continued his love of sports by watching and sometimes coaching local sports. Many hours were spent in the pharmacy listening to games on the radio. His KU affiliation brought him great joy as a hard-core Kansas Jayhawk fan, Crimson and Blue through and through. Although he was known on occasion to reluctantly root for the team from Manhattan. In fact, after losing a game wager, he reportedly drove around Herington with a large purple sign in the back of his truck. Over his career, he endured several other purple events, but they were all to show his sport and willingness to poke fun at himself. Besides enjoying professional and college sports, when he could get away from the pharmacy, he supported and attended many local games to watch family and friends compete. &nbsp;He so loved watching his children and grandchildren perform in sports or music that he seldom missed an event and was known to drive four hours one way just so he could watch in person. &nbsp;

Roger was a lifetime Herington advocate.&nbsp; He always supported ALL of Herington. Over his years he served (often several times) on the Herington Hospital Board, Tri-County Chamber of Commerce, Herington Lions Club, Herington Library Board, Herington Recreation Commission and several Herington United Methodist Church boards and committees. He actively participated in the planning committee for the successful 1987 Herington Centennial. Most local groups and clubs knew he could always be counted on to donate time and money to support their efforts.

Roger served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He entered service in Fort Polk, LA on June 25, 1966. He was discharged as a Captain in Hutchinson, KS on June 24, 1972, after six years of reserve service as a pharmacist. He received a sharpshooter medal.

There was another side of Roger. Besides all the public and community support he gave, he gave more to his faith and family. &nbsp;Faith, Family, and Fun were Roger’s priorities in life. &nbsp;&nbsp;His five most memorable moments of his life were 1) His infant baptism, 2) his confirmation, 3) graduating college, 4) adopting their two daughters and 5) having grandchildren.&nbsp; His proudest accomplishment was helping raise two daughters and having the opportunity to be a loving grandparent. His message to his remaining family is “I have loved being a spouse, a dad and a grandparent. Enjoy as many of these moments as you can. They go by way too fast. I am thankful for the life I have had as I look around and see so many others with many more problems than I have experienced. I am so thankful for our adoption of two beautiful and talented daughters.”&nbsp;

Roger attended St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Herington. He previously was a long-time member of the Herington United Methodist Church until it closed and also attended the First Christian Church in Herington.

Roger strove to be a good example for others to follow, a person who tried to find the good in everyone and as someone who loved music. His goal at work was to be fair with people. His favorite part of his career was working with and talking with people and his customers. Throughout his life he did so much for so many in the Herington area. His friendship, compassion, love, and humor will be missed by all who knew him.&nbsp;

A public remembrance gathering will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. with a celebration of life service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at the Herington Community Building, Herington KS. The family asks that you wear casual collegiate attire, preferably colored Crimson and Blue. A private inurnment will be held later.

William’s life began on February 12, 1963 in Miami, Florida. He was the loving son of Enrique Antonio and Alida (Garcia) Cardonnè. William was a 1981 graduate of Bell High School in Bell, California. He also attended the El Camino Community College in Bell, California.&nbsp;

William was united in marriage to Roxana Patricia Nolasco on August 12, 1994 in Hawthorne, California. To this union were three children, Vanessa, Nathan, and Jared.

William served as a pastor at El Camino Church in McPherson, Kansas until he had a debilitating stroke in 2019. William enjoyed serving the Lord on mission trips, working with children and youth, served as an interpreter for the Rice County Court system and Rice County School District. &nbsp;William loved playing tennis, playing the congo drums and any percussion instruments, and had an extensive baseball card collection which was featured in Los Angeles. He also enjoyed his family, traveling, cooking, and his KU memorabilia.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Faith Tabernacle Church. Reverend Nathan Dudley will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. The burial will follow the funeral service at Highland Cemetery. Jacquelin was born February 8, 1989 in Orange City, CA the daughter of Jorge and Angela Maria (Ocampo) Bautista. On January 5, 2021, Jackie moved to Junction City, KS to live with her brother Anthony Medina and her sister-in-law Rebecca. At the time, she had been diagnosed with stage four cancer. Her intention with moving to Junction City to be near family was to get her life in order. She was preparing for her transition from earth to heaven. At that time, she started attending Faith Tabernacle Church and she obeyed the Acts 2:38 message where she was baptized in JESUS name and she received the gift of the HOLY GHOST with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance. Jackie enjoyed traveling. She traveled forty seven states driving her own vehicle. Her last job was driving a school bus in Kansas City, MO. She made a lot of friends and acquaintances as she traveled the country. She enjoyed driving so much, she became an over the road truck driver and operated her own business. She loved every moment of being self-employed. To visit all fifty states was on her bucket list of things to do. Jackie really liked children. Her like for children was the key decision to become a school bus driver. Jackie really liked the ocean and spending time near water. Her goal was to live on the ocean and work near the ocean. She could spend hours visiting amusement parks riding all the rides. It was not uncommon for her to get in her car and take a spontaneous drive to California for a long weekend to visit friends and family. Summer was born January 10, 1979, in Frankfurt, Germany the daughter of Essie Fort, JR. and LaVerne Gerlinde Grant. Summer lived and attended schools in Germany and Colorado, prior to calling Junction City home. She graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 1997 where was a member of the Army JROTC program. She graduated from Kansas State University in 2005 with a degree in social work. She worked for Computing and Telecommunications Services and the Veterinarians Hospital, before moving on to become the social services administrator at New Directions. She then later went to work as a case worker for Irwin Army Community Hospital with the Warrior Transition Battalion. She was a member of the Mu Eta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and also attended New Church of the Living God. She was united in marriage to Chad Bennett on July 3, 2000 at the Fellowship Temple in Manhattan, KS. Rosalind Nelms, 58 of Abilene passed away May 19, 2021. She was born July 4, 1962 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Leon and Nancy Jeter. On July 4, 1985 she was united in marriage to Ronald Nelms in Long Beach, California. As a military spouse she traveled the world and country living in many places before residing in Abilene where she worked at Ft. Riley as an administrative assistant at the Army Community Center.

 Rosalind is survived by her loving husband Ronald, daughter, Tiffany and son, Travis. Her mother, Nancy Jeter and four brothers. A service will be held at a later date. Danner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Roger Hein, 77 of Enterprise passed away June 1, 2021. He was born January 25, 1944 in Pierre, South Dakota, the son of Francis and Eileen (Timmons) Hein. He grew up in the Pierre area and graduated from Pierre High School. He enlisted in the Army in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1971. On December 22, 1979 he was united in marriage to Dixie Galentine in Abilene. Roger worked for a hide company.

He is survived by his loving wife Dixie of the home. One son, Leon Hein; daughter, Nyla Brevig; step-son, James Galentine; Two brothers, Donnie (Petra) Hein; Mike (Dustine) Hein; Four sisters: JoAn (Gene) Trenary; Judy (Ronnie) Brown; Carla (George) Stanley; Connie (Rob) Karsmizik. Three grandsons, and two granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, brother, and a step-son.

Loun M. Crawford, 90, died April 13.&nbsp; He was born on April 12, 1930 in Clay Center, the son of George and Lottie Mae (Bergman) Crawford. Loun married Mary Adina Johnson on July 4, 1958, she preceded him in death on October 26, 2009. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was in Korea for one year and four months.&nbsp; In September of 1962, Loun received the Craftsmanship Award from the American Institute of Architects for his work on the "Choir Boy" doors at the First Congregational Church in Manhattan and those doors are still there today.&nbsp; He worked for Erickson Building and Supply for 28 years and he owned and operated Crawford Cabinet Shop from 1974 until his retirement in 2008.&nbsp; Loun was a member of the United Methodist Church, VFW, where he was past commander, American Legion and BPOE, all of Clay Center. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lelia Eye and Lois Lee; brothers, Leonard, Lawrence, Lowman, Lyman, Leeland and Lowell Crawford.
