Skyler is survived by his parents; his brothers, Landon, Collin and Jordan; his maternal grandparents, Gladys and Galen Thorsell, Wamego; his paternal grandparents, Beth Holthaus, and Ken Holthaus, both of Seneca; his aunts and uncles, Kristin Thorsell, Wamego, Jon-Edward Thorsell, Washington DC, Brad Holthuas, Seneca, Chris Holthaus (Caitlin) and their son Canon, Seneca; and numerous other extended family members.

Tee Snipes, Jr., 75, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Geary Community Hospital. Tee was born January 27, 1946, the son of John T. and Jennie (Hardin) Snipes. Tee was a cook on Fort Riley and Denny's Restaurant for over 30 years. Tee was an avid car enthusiast. Jesse “Veryl” Crawford, 87 of Clifton died March 3, 2021. He was born June 27, 1933 the son of Walter and Jessie (Parker) Crawford. &nbsp;He grew up in Clifton, graduating from Clifton High School in 1950.&nbsp; He served in the U.S. Army.&nbsp; Veryl married Dixie Black on July 14, 1961 and she preceded him in death on May 2, 2020.&nbsp; He worked for Fyfe Sand Company in Concordia for a short time before the family moved to Kansas City and Carrollton, MO.&nbsp; They later returned to Clifton and he owned and operated Big T’s Café for several years prior to returning to work at Fyfe Sand Company until his retirement.&nbsp; He is also preceded in death by his parents; son, Bryce Crawford; 2 brothers, Keith and Delmar and a sister, Laurel Knox.

Veryl was a member of the Clifton Christian Church and attended the Faith United Church Presbyterian, past member and Post Commander of the Clifton American Legion and he was a member of the Linn American Legion.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Kenneth King Gowdy was born on June 25, 1932 in Memphis, Tennessee. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2021 in Lansing, Kansas. His father was Fred Gowdy of Blue Mountain, Mississippi, and his mother was Sena Etna King, of Ackerman, Mississippi. He attended Delphos (KS) High School where he played basketball and football (class of 1950). There he met and became friends with Dolores Hurtig, who eventually became his wife. He worked for her father in the summers during wheat harvest on a custom combining crew. Ken attended Kansas State College (now University) from 1950-1955 receiving his B.S degree in mechanical engineering. He was a member of ROTC, the Sigma Chi fraternity, and served as class president in 1953-54. He received a football scholarship at Kansas State, where he lettered three years as a center/linebacker. His 1953 Wildcat squad was 6-3-1 and became the first of only four KSU squads to post a winning record after WWII until the Bill Snyder era began in 1989. His senior season he was named 2nd Team All Big-7, a 2nd Team Academic All-American, and he played in the North-South Shrine Football game in Miami. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Air Force for two years from 1955-57 as a Lieutenant in the OSI. He went on to receive his M.S. in mechanical engineering from KSU, and his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University. He had industrial experience with Pratt and Whitney, General Electric, Boeing, and Continental Pipeline during his Post-Graduate years. Kenneth and Dolores we were married in Delphos, Kansas on August 24, 1952. They became the loving parents of four children: John David, Elizabeth Ann, Michael King, and Mark Alan. Family time took a priority and holidays we were often spent with relatives, as well as regular summer vacations to Colorado. After their children we were grown, Ken &amp; Dolores enjoyed traveling together, especially to Vancouver, British Columbia. During his almost 50-year career at K-State (except for five years at Texas A&amp;M) Dr. Gowdy served as a dedicated and engaging Professor, Assistant Dean, Head of Engineering Technology, and Associate Dean of the College of Engineering. He was a mentor to numerous engineering students. He retired from KSU in 1997, where he remained as an Associate Dean Emeritus. Among his academic awards are Blue Key at KSU, Phi Kappa Phi at TAMU, and Fellow member of the American Society for Engineering Education, where he received the ASEE Fellow Honor Award. As a loyal Wildcat fan, he could be seen wearing his “Golden Cat” cap at football and basketball games. In recognition of his contributions to Kansas athletics, Ken was inducted into the Minneapolis Sports Hall of Fame in 2019. He loved to read books on subjects such as Christianity, science, physics, philosophy, biography and history, and for many years he participated with friends in a book club. Ken had a strong belief in God and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, Kansas, serving as serving as a Sunday School teacher and a Deacon. His early morning prayer and reading scriptures evolved into writing poetry. In 1994, he published two collections of poetry called "The Beauty of God" and "The Wondrous Works of God." He spent countless hours doing genealogical research on ancestors and scanning family photos. He was especially proud of his Scots-Irish ancestry and visited Ireland with his wife. A devoted and beloved husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be greatly missed. His many sacrifices for his family, friends, and others, along with his generous acts of kindness, friendship, and love, both seen and unseen, will never be forgotten. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Dolores, his oldest brother, Fred Wayne Gowdy (Tommie Lee), younger brother, Daniel E. Pilcher (Madie), sister, Patricia A. Pilcher/Theurer (Byron), and two sons, David (Norlene) and Mark (Teresa). He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Lewis “Bob” Gowdy, his son Michael, and his daughter Elizabeth. He has eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. Nathan Dean Puett, 30, of Salina, died Friday, February 26, 2021 at Hillsboro, KS. He was welcomed home to Heaven with open arms by his grandmother, Ada Harloff, his father Lester Dean Puett and his sister, Brenda Boland. Nathan was born January 17, 1991 in Junction City, Kansas, the son of Lester Dean “Butch” Puett and Nancy Domiano Puett. He was a 2009 graduate of Topeka High School and attended Salina Technical School. He was a heavy equipment operator in dirt construction formerly working for TNR Construction Company. Nathan loved his kids and was a “hands on” dad. He enjoyed video games, disc golf, and grilling, although he was not very good at it. He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs. Nathan is survived by his companion, Lauren Tompkinson, his two children, “J.D.” Jensen Dean and “A.J.” Aspyn Jo, both of the home of Salina; his sister Andrea Puett and her boyfriend Chris, and their children: Trenton, Rita, and Jonah, his nephew, Indy Boland and half-brother Jason Puett. Donald Lee Smith "Smitty," 90, of Manhattan, KS, passed away Sunday, February 28th, at Stoneybrook Retirement Community. Donald was born July 8, 1930, in Hays, Kansas to the late Cecil and Luella (Hancock) Smith. Donald married the love of his life, Jeane Laizure on October 31, 1948. &nbsp;He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1984 after 32 years. &nbsp;Don and Jeane made their home primarily in Hays and Norton, until moving to Manhattan in 1968. &nbsp;Don was active in the Norton County Jaycees and was also a one-time president of the organization. &nbsp;He loved to golf and was a long-time member of the Stagg Hill Golf Club. &nbsp;Don and Jeane were "avid RVers" and were members of the Man-Kan Campers Club. &nbsp;He was always proud of their latest RV, and enjoyed the hunt for the next one. &nbsp;Don and Jeane were snowbirds enjoying winters in Mission, Texas with their friends. &nbsp;The children often received phone calls from Padre Island, intentionally made when Kansas snow was deep. Don is survived by the love of his life of 72 years, Jeane; Son; Richard "Dick" (Kimberly) Smith of Manhattan; daughters, Linda (Timothy) Duncan of Fort Collins, Colorado; and Janet Smith (Tad Wicker) of Norton; nine grandchildren; Charisse Wilson (Larry Powell), Laura Duncan, Mandy Welch, Bethany Wicker, Matt (Crissy) Duncan, Elizabeth (Scott) Hammack, Karen Duncan (Dennis Bigelow), Christina (Brian) Geiger, and William Smith (Kelly Skretta); 15 great-grandchildren; Sam, Miles, Jack, Henry, Adam, Lizzie, Charlie,&nbsp; Leylen, Toren, Timothy, Trent, Grace, Jacob, Jenna, and Ethan;&nbsp; Sister; Peggy Klaus and brothers; Bud Smith and Les Smith. Donald Lee Smith "Smitty," 90, of Manhattan, KS, passed away Sunday, February 28th, at Stoneybrook Retirement Community. Donald was born July 8, 1930, in Hays, Kansas to the late Cecil and Luella (Hancock) Smith. Donald married the love of his life, Jeane Laizure on October 31, 1948. &nbsp;He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1984 after 32 years. &nbsp;Don and Jeane made their home primarily in Hays and Norton, until moving to Manhattan in 1968. &nbsp;Don was active in the Norton County Jaycees and was also a one-time president of the organization. &nbsp;He loved to golf and was a long-time member of the Stagg Hill Golf Club. &nbsp;Don and Jeane were "avid RVers" and were members of the Man-Kan Campers Club. &nbsp;He was always proud of their latest RV, and enjoyed the hunt for the next one. &nbsp;Don and Jeane were snowbirds enjoying winters in Mission, Texas with their friends. &nbsp;The children often received phone calls from Padre Island, intentionally made when Kansas snow was deep. Don is survived by the love of his life of 72 years, Jeane; Son; Richard "Dick" (Kimberly) Smith of Manhattan; daughters, Linda (Timothy) Duncan of Fort Collins, Colorado; and Janet Smith (Tad Wicker) of Norton; nine grandchildren; Charisse Wilson (Larry Powell), Laura Duncan, Mandy Welch, Bethany Wicker, Matt (Crissy) Duncan, Elizabeth (Scott) Hammack, Karen Duncan (Dennis Bigelow), Christina (Brian) Geiger, and William Smith (Kelly Skretta); 15 great-grandchildren; Sam, Miles, Jack, Henry, Adam, Lizzie, Charlie,&nbsp; Leylen, Toren, Timothy, Trent, Grace, Jacob, Jenna, and Ethan;&nbsp; Sister; Peggy Klaus and brothers; Bud Smith and Les Smith. Joshua Barr McIntyre - August 20, 1977-February 24, 2021 (age 43)

Armelio's life began on July 31, 1938 in Marianas Havana, Cuba.  He was the son of Armelio Del Castillo and Obdulia (Aries) Castillo.  Armelio was united in marriage to Xenia Vilar on July 24, 1974 in Panama City, Panama.  He attended school at the Peekskill Military Academy in Peekskill, NY and later served his adopted country in the United State Air Force from 1958 – 1960.  Following Armelio's military service he was a police officer for the New York Police Department (NYPD) and then went to work for the United State Department of Defense as a law enforcement officer until becoming disabled.

  He enjoyed building model airplanes, taking long drives in the countryside, and sharing military stories with his fellow vets. As a Korean War vet, he visited the Father Kapaun Memorial often.  Armelio loved Halloween and was a great cook, especially French Toast.  He also loved his Duncan Donuts and most especially he loved his family.

  His loving family includes his wife of 46 years, Xenia of Lincolnville; children Melissa Del Castillo of Marion, Armelio Del Castillo III of Junction City and Nicole (Shannon Grant) Del Castillo of El Paso, TX; grandchildren Alfwenna Meyer, Mariela Owens, and Noah Robertson-Del Castillo.  Armelio passed away on Tuesday March 2, 2021 at Newton Medical Center.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Eloise Grunewald, 93, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Advantage Health Care of Colorado Springs, Colorado, under the care of Abode of Colorado Hospice.&nbsp; She was a life-long Alma area resident until recently when she moved to live with family due to health issues.

Eloise was born October 22, 1927 to Earle Wesley Evans and Cora Myrtle Kamm Evans near White City, KS and was the oldest of nine children who grew to adulthood. In 1950, Eloise was introduced to Glenn Grunewald, one of the Spring Creek Boys, by a mutual friend. They were married on April 4, 1951. Glenn preceded her in death in 1978. Eloise is survived by her son Dennis Grunewald and his wife Kay, daughter Leann Herndon, daughter Lesa Ronnau and her husband Larry; grandchildren Amie Matthews (Wes), Jamie Crnkovic (Joel), Michael Grunewald (Melissa), Emily Ronnau, Matt Grunewald (Bridget), Katie Grant (Daryl), and Aaron Grunewald (Alexandra); great-grandchildren Tara (Dane), Corey (Dianne), Trevor, Amielia, Marlie, Milo, Ainslie, Theo, Aidan and Madeline, and one great-great granddaughter Elloise.&nbsp; Also surviving are siblings Corinne Larson, Keith Evans (Lydia), Carol Olsen, Larry Evans (Sue), Earle G. Evans (Connie), Rosemarie McCreath (Eugene) and Don Evans (Ruth Ann). Eloise was also blessed with many cherished and loved nieces and nephews. Along with Glenn, she was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Barry Herndon, siblings L.D., Ellouise and Harold Evans; sisters-in-law Anita Evans and JoAnn Evans; brothers-in-law Veryl Dale McCulle, John Larson and Donald Olsen; and nephew Spencer Larson.

Eloise attended elementary school at Marion Hill Elementary School near Dwight and graduated from Alta Vista High School in 1945.&nbsp; Following high school, she worked as a telephone switchboard operator at the Alta Vista Telephone Company from 1945-1951.&nbsp; During these years she lived with Bill and Alta Mayer, working at their family restaurant for room and board.&nbsp; She was later a cashier at the Karns’ family IGA in Alma for several years in the 1970’s.&nbsp; Eloise was a hard-working farmer’s wife, never sitting down to rest until the end of the day, as a woman’s work is never done. After being widowed in 1978, Eloise began working at First National Bank in Alma where she worked until her retirement in 1992.&nbsp; Eloise loved smiling, laughing and chatting, so working with the public was her calling. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Alma, Kansas.&nbsp; Eloise loved family and friend gatherings, playing pitch, reading the hometown newspapers, rocking babies, sitting on her front porch, class reunions, chatting with her friends and neighbors, flower gardening, and most importantly, her family near and far.&nbsp; She also loved dancing, both the two-step and square dancing. The old Spring Creek and Mill Creek barn dances were fun times!&nbsp; In her later years when dancing was no longer a possibility, she looked forward to watching Saturday night reruns of The Mollie B Polka Party on TV, a source of fun and friendly banter with her son-in-law, Barry. She was well known in her family circle for her yummy coconut cream pies, deviled eggs and sugar cookies. She created memories that will live on in the hearts of her family forever. Every bite of a coconut cream pie, a deviled egg and a sugar cookie will always be compared to hers!

Lillian Violet (Briegel) Bosch was born April 11, 1932 in Arapahoe, NE to Fred and Oma Briegel. Lillian was baptized May 1, 1932 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, NE and was confirmed on Palm Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina, KS on April 1, 1945. She attended multiple schools in Kansas as her father served the country during WWII building military bases. Music played a large role in her life and she was an accomplished musician of many instruments. After graduating high school in Salina, KS she attended St. John’s Lutheran College in Winfield, KS. Here she met the love of her life, Floyd Bosch who was studying to be a Pastor in the Lutheran Church. She taught for two years in Wichita before they married on June 27, 1954 and moved to St. Louis. She taught 3rd&nbsp;grade in Maplewood, MO while Floyd studied at Concordia Theological Seminary. Upon his graduation from seminary, they accepted a call to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of England as a missionary family and served in Sunderland, England and later moved to London, England. In 1969 the family moved to Clay Center, KS where Floyd served as Pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. After raising her six children, Lillian returned to college at Kansas State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Special Education in 1982, while working as Director of the Big Lakes Developmental Center in Clay Center. She later accepted a position as Vice President in Manhattan and retired from BLDC in 1996. In retirement Lillian and Floyd enjoyed spending their summers in Soldotna, Alaska fishing and winters in Weslaco, TX and spending time with their family. They also went on many mission trips around the world helping those in need.

Lillian is survived by her husband, Floyd, their six children: Kathy Bosch (Jim Margheim) of Scottsbluff, NE, John (Carol) Bosch of Clay Center, KS, Mary Bosch of Parkville, MO, Peter Bosch of Sterling, AK, Timothy (Denise) Bosch of Sterling, AK and Patricia (Bill) Gibbons of Wheaton, IL, her sister and best friend, Eleanor Niehouse of Lake Elsinore, CA, 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Kenneth and Arlo.

Ottilie (Lilly) Worley, age 90, passed away at her residence on Saturday, February 27, 2021. She was born on March 23,1930 in Pfaffenhofen, Germany. Lilly was a war bride who married Earnest (Earnie) Worley Jr. on June 16, 1952. They were married for 68 wonderful years. During her longtime residence in Manhattan, Kansas, she was employed by Wal-Mart for 10 years (when they were first up and coming), then for USD 383 in the lunchroom. Lilly was a member for many years of the German/American Club and until now, the lunchroom ladies’ group from USD 383 who would meet for lunch every few weeks. She is survived by her husband Earnie; her two children, Beverly Kearbey and Rici Worley of Topeka, KS; two grandchildren, Rachel Headrick of St. Louis, MO and Christopher Headrick (and wife Rachael) of Rolla, MO; five great-grandchildren, Kessah, Colton, Cayden, Kaileanna (Headrick) of Rolla, MO; and Khyler Headrick of St. Louis, MO. Ottilie (Lilly) Worley, age 90, passed away at her residence on Saturday, February 27, 2021. She was born on March 23,1930 in Pfaffenhofen, Germany. Lilly was a war bride who married Earnest (Earnie) Worley Jr. on June 16, 1952. They were married for 68 wonderful years. During her longtime residence in Manhattan, Kansas, she was employed by Wal-Mart for 10 years (when they were first up and coming), then for USD 383 in the lunchroom. Lilly was a member for many years of the German/American Club and until now, the lunchroom ladies’ group from USD 383 who would meet for lunch every few weeks. She is survived by her husband Earnie; her two children, Beverly Kearbey and Rici Worley of Topeka, KS; two grandchildren, Rachel Headrick of St. Louis, MO and Christopher Headrick (and wife Rachael) of Rolla, MO; five great-grandchildren, Kessah, Colton, Cayden, Kaileanna (Headrick) of Rolla, MO; and Khyler Headrick of St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers, a son, Roger Lee Worley and a grandson, Jonathan Wayne Headrick. John Francis White, 95, of Laclede, Kansas, died Thursday, February 25, 2021, at the Good Shepherd Homecare Hospice in Manhattan.

He was born November 5, 1925 in Hanover, Kansas, the son of Agnes Triska and John Francis White. His family moved to the Laclede area in 1929. He attended White Chapel School of Laclede,&nbsp; Hanover School, Harrington School, and Wamego High School. He was one of three boys and four sisters.

John was a farmer and a rancher his entire life. John was active in his community. He served on the Laclede Grade School board, the Belvue school board, Knights of Columbus, St. Mary's chapter, the St. Mary's Bank board, and the St. Mary's Coop board.

He was united in marriage on October 17, 1949 to Marjorie Alice Lintz at St. Bernard's Church. They supported each other raising nine children, expanding the farm, and enjoying their community. She preceded him in death in 2001. Mr. White was also preceded in death by their son, Dr. John F. White III , doctorate of psychology, in 1988.

John was a lifelong member of the St. Bernard's Catholic Church. He was proud to support the parish when the church was rebuilt by restoring the Michael the Archangel window, which Marjorie's great grandfather, Michael Lintz had placed in the original stone church. He supported the Sisters of the Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas, where his sisters attended school.

Later in life he was fortunate to have the company of his good friend, Charlene Peddicord, to travel with in his motorhome and on the Kaw Valley Bank trips.

John loved being a farmer and a rancher. His experiences in the agricultural world spanned the era of working with mules to John building ponds with a huge tractor affectionally nicknamed Maude. From harnessing a team of horses to work the ground, he lived to see his sons planting corn with satellite assistance.

John is survived by his children: Ellen Hargrave (Leo), Laclede; Maureen Hinkin (Doug),&nbsp;Manhattan; Teresa Knechtel (Mike), Olathe; Tony White (Cathy) , Laclede; Michael White (Ann), Laclede; Mary Beth White, Laclede; Christine Wolf (Kurt), Salina; Paul White (Karen), Laclede. John has 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.&nbsp;

&nbsp;A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 5, 2021, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. &nbsp;Burial will follow at Laclede Cemetery. Con-celebrants will be Father Mike Peterson and Father James White, S.J. An honorary celebrant is Father Bob White, S.J. currently serving in Nairobi, Kenya. A rosary will be recited before the funeral mass at St. Bernard's. John will lie in state Thursday, March 4, from 1pm to 8pm at Campanella &amp; Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

&nbsp;Eloise was born October 22, 1927 to Earle Wesley Evans and Cora Myrtle Kamm Evans near White City, KS and was the oldest of nine children who grew to adulthood. In 1950, Eloise was introduced to Glenn Grunewald, one of the Spring Creek Boys, by a mutual friend. They were married on April 4, 1951. Glenn preceded her in death in 1978. 

Eloise is survived by her son Dennis Grunewald and his wife Kay, daughter Leann Herndon, daughter Lesa Ronnau and her husband Larry; grandchildren Amie Matthews (Wes), Jamie Crnkovic (Joel), Michael Grunewald (Melissa), Emily Ronnau, Matt Grunewald (Bridget), Katie Grant (Daryl), and Aaron Grunewald (Alexandra); great-grandchildren Tara (Dane), Corey (Dianne), Trevor, Amielia, Marlie, Milo, Ainslie, Theo, Aidan and Madeline, and one great-great granddaughter Elloise.&nbsp; Also surviving are siblings Corinne Larson, Keith Evans (Lydia), Carol Olsen, Larry Evans (Sue), Earle G. Evans (Connie), Rosemarie McCreath (Eugene) and Don Evans (Ruth Ann). Eloise was also blessed with many cherished and loved nieces and nephews. Eloise attended elementary school at Marion Hill Elementary School near Dwight and graduated from Alta Vista High School in 1945.&nbsp; Following high school, she worked as a telephone switchboard operator at the Alta Vista Telephone Company from 1945-1951.&nbsp; During these years she lived with Bill and Alta Mayer, working at their family restaurant for room and board.&nbsp; She was later a cashier at the Karns’ family IGA in Alma for several years in the 1970’s.&nbsp; Eloise was a hard-working farmer’s wife, never sitting down to rest until the end of the day, as a woman’s work is never done. After being widowed in 1978, Eloise began working at First National Bank in Alma where she worked until her retirement in 1992.&nbsp; Eloise loved smiling, laughing and chatting, so working with the public was her calling. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Alma, Kansas.&nbsp; Eloise loved family and friend gatherings, playing pitch, reading the hometown newspapers, rocking babies, sitting on her front porch, class reunions, chatting with her friends and neighbors, flower gardening, and most importantly, her family near and far.&nbsp; She also loved dancing, both the two-step and square dancing. The old Spring Creek and Mill Creek barn dances were fun times!&nbsp; In her later years when dancing was no longer a possibility, she looked forward to watching Saturday night reruns of The Mollie B Polka Party on TV, a source of fun and friendly banter with her son-in-law, Barry. She was well known in her family circle for her yummy coconut cream pies, deviled eggs and sugar cookies. She created memories that will live on in the hearts of her family forever. Every bite of a coconut cream pie, a deviled egg and a sugar cookie will always be compared to hers!Funeral Services are currently pending and the Campanella &amp; Stewart Funeral Home of Alma is in charge of the arrangements.

Kenneth served his country in the United States Navy from 1973 – 1976. He worked in shipping and receiving most of his career. Kenneth was united in marriage to Penny Brown on August 27, 1976 in Portland, OR. He was very musical and could pay trombone, guitar, flute and many other instruments. He enjoyed creating websites on his computer for churches and especially his Disney fan website. Kenneth was an excellent photographer and most especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

 His loving family includes his wife of 44 years, Penny Voller of Herington; daughter Jennel (Philip) Rowe of White City; grandchildren Jonathan Rowe, Justin Schultz, Christine (Tommy) Borrell, Tyler Schultz, and McKenzie (Ryan) Hicks; great grandchildren Corbin, Tobias, Isabella, Zenaida, Anthony, and Calliope; siblings Lynda (Dale) Simonton of WA, Janet Kubachek of WA, and David Voller of WA. Kenneth passed away on February 24, 2021 in Topeka. He is preceded in death by his parents. 

Friends will gather with the family on Monday March 1, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, Herington led by Pastor Darrell Geist. Randall “Smiley” Mark Burnett, 66 of Council Grove, Kansas, passed away February 26, 2021 at Morris County Hospital.

He was born October 28, 1954 to Kenneth and Betty (Fuqua) Burnett. He graduated from Council Grove High School in 1972 and served a year in the US Navy. He worked for Boeing in Wichita for several years before working as a mason in commercial construction.

Smiley married Mary Hewitt in 1987 and they had two children, Dustin and Alison.&nbsp; They later divorced. He relocated to Lubbock, TX for a while and had a daughter Brandi.

Smiley enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting mushrooms, telling jokes and just making people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents.&nbsp; Smiley is survived by his children: Dustin Burnett, Alison Mantz (Adam) all of Council Grove and Brandi Burnett of ID; sisters: Pam Gentry of Mableton, GA and Alice Crowley of Emporia; and brother Phil Burnett of Wilsey; and grandchildren: Aleah Olson, Owen Mantz, Kinsley Burnett, and Aiden and Jaxton Dye.

Clayton E. Karst, 95, died February 26, 2021, at Country Place Senior
 Living, Hoisington, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp; He was born March 9, 1925, in Galatia, 
Kansas, the son of Edd and Charlotte (Dumler) Karst.&nbsp; Clayton was a 1943
 graduate of Hoisington High School. A WWII veteran, Clayton served in 
the United States Marine Corps as a Corporal, and was stationed in 
Hawaii from 1943 to 1946.

Clayton worked for the family business, Karst Motor Company for 16 
years and later as a counterman for Big A Auto Parts retiring in 1987. 
He was a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where he served on
 the council and helped in the maintance of the church in many aspects.&nbsp;
 He was a former commander of &nbsp;the Hoisington American Legion Post #286 
and a lifetime member of the Russell V.F.W. #6240, participating in the 
honor guard for many years.

On June 2, 1946, he married Hilda E. Herbel in Hoisington.&nbsp; She 
preceded him in death on July 19, 1993.&nbsp; He then married Helen E. Miller
 on September 28, 1996, in Hoisington.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on 
December 21, 2009.

He is survived by two daughters; Janice Terry and husband David of 
Overland Park, and Susan LaFaver of Greeley, Colorado; sister, Pauline 
Ray of Junction City; and two grandchildren, Amy La Faver of Venice, 
Florida and Angela Walts of Odessa, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives; brother, Paul Karst, and a sister, Isabelle Dumler.

Visitation will be Sunday 1 to 6 p.m., and Monday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Emmanuel Lutheran 
Church, Hoisington, with Reverend Wayne Baldyga presiding. Burial will 
follow at Hoisington Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the 
United States Marine Corps Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Emmanuel 
Lutheran Church, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146,

Lorine Kay Woodworth, age 67 of Manhattan, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.

She was born on October 29, 1953 in Manhattan, the daughter of Edward Sylvester and Thelma (McCarty) Allen.

On April 4, 1970 she married Danny Woodworth.  He survives of the home.

Lorine worked for Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company, retiring in 2014.  Following her retirement she worked as a Para in local schools, most recently at Bergman Elementary.  She loved all of her grandchildren and enjoyed visiting the mountains in Colorado and working in her yard and garden.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Brian Woodworth and wife Heather of Riley and Lorie Massey and husband Allen of Manhattan; three siblings, Cindy Jordan and husband Ernest of Florida, Annette Bullard and husband Ray of Riley and Eddie Allen and wife Wanda of Riley; four grandchildren, Kyla, Jaiden, Miah and Eva and two great grandchildren, Liam and CeCe.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Laura Michelle Woodworth.

Cremation is planned and a private family inurnment will be held in the Grandview-Mill Creek Cemetery.

A registry book will be available to sign at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home starting on Wednesday, February 24, 2020 through Friday, February 26, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

&nbsp;Vaughna Lee Gibson, age 57 of Riley, departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

She was born on March 24, 1963 in Smith Center, the daughter of Willie Otis and Donna Lee (Davis) Gibson.

Vaughna was a daycare provider and a “jack of all trades”.  She was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church and was their event hostess.  She was known for being creative and a determined, generous person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.



Left to cherish her memories are her four daughters, Lacey Lee Gibson of Manhattan, Kyia Lee Gibson of Manhattan, Ky’Mara Ilee Gibson of Riley and Myia Lee Gibson of Riley; one son, William De’Mar Gibson of Riley; one grandson, Zadyn Lee Strong of Manhattan and her brothers, Brandon Dale Gibson of Riley, Kenneth Lee Gibson of Hays and Edward Otis Gibson of Hays.

Thelma “TJ” Jane Cameron gained her Heavenly Wings February 17th&nbsp;2021 in Clay Center, Kansas

TJ was born in the small town of Bunker Hill Indiana on March 19th&nbsp;1931 to Harold and Leah (Downs) Wagner.

TJ was born right in the middle of the Great Depression. She was the middle (and only girl) child. She had two brothers Eugene and Chuck. She was a Daddy’s girl and thought the sun rose and set on him. When she was sixteen she married Lovell Horn and together they had four children. She stayed busy working as a waitress, seamstress and activities leader. She helped coach her daughter’s softball team and was a leader for Brownies Troup and Cub Scouts. After 23 years of marriage TJ and Lovell parted ways. She later moved to Kansas to be with her daughter. She was very active in her church life and loved her Lord and Savior. &nbsp;She worked in Manhattan at Campbell’s (a fine collections store) and the Manhattan Library. She really enjoyed both of these jobs as it kept her involved with people. She retired and moved to Clay Center where she met the love of her life Leonard Cameron. They were able to adventure this life together for ten years.

TJ was preceded in death by her youngest daughter Renee Lynn, her only son Rex Lovell and her husband Leonard. Surviving family are:
