Police find Kan. burglary suspect, evidence at motel

BARTON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a burglary and have made an arrest.

Just after 8a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the area of Lakin Avenue and Van Buren in Great Bend in reference to an unknown subject entering into vehicles without permission.

While Officers were responding to the area, the subject identified as Jericho Riddle, age 20, fled the area on foot. Officers stopped Riddle on the west side of the Travelodge Hotel at room #105 located in the 3200 block of 10th Street.

Riddle was found to be in possession of stolen property and detained. The Travelodge Hotel room #105 was secured and the detectives obtained a search warrant for Riddle's hotel room. The search warrant was executed and items of evidence were located and seized at that time.

Riddle was arrested on requested charges of burglary and criminal trespass. Riddle was then transported to the Barton County Detention Center and booked in lieu of bond.
