
SALINA —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on numerous charges after he stabbed a police officer in Salina.
Just after midnight Sunday, a Salina officer was attempting to make an arrest in the 2100 block of Meadowlark when a physical confrontation ensued, according to a social media report from police.
The suspect stabbed the officer his torso with a knife and attempted to flee but was apprehended.
Police arrested Miguel Alberto Tostado on requested charges of Aggravated Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer and other felony charges. He is being held in Saline County Jail.
The officer was transported to Salina Regional Hospital where he was treated, released and is expected to make a full recovery.
Police are expected to release additional details Monday.
