SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a deadly weekend crash and have identified the man who died as 94-year-old Ralph Hunt of Wichita.
At approximately 3:15 p.m. Saturday, police responded to an injury accident at West 17th Street and North West Street in Wichita, according to officer Kevin Wheeler.
Upon arrival, officers located Hunt, who was unresponsive. Fire and EMS personnel attempted life-saving measures on Hunt, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.
The investigation revealed that a red Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 22-year-old male and a tan Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 17-year-old male were both southbound on North West Street.
The two trucks collided with a westbound Lincoln Town Car driven by Hunt. The 17-year-old driver received non-life-threatening injuries. A 15-year-old male passenger in the Town Car received serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Speed is believed to have been a factor on the part of the two pick-up drivers, according to Wheeler.
