SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal weekend shooting that fatally injured a 22-year-old  man identified as Christian Waters of Wichita.

Just after 4a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a shooting at a home in the 1300 block of north Volutsia in Wichita, according to Officer Charley Davidson.

Upon arrival, officers located Waters, who had been shot.  He was transported to an area hospital where he died.

The investigation revealed several individuals were at a gathering at the home.  During the gathering, a disturbance ensued between Waters and a suspect.  The suspect fired multiple rounds that struck Waters.

This was not a random incident, and a lack of cooperation with this investigation has affected police from learning all the details of this case.
