SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a fatal pedestrian accident and have identified the victim as 68-year-old Michael Llamas of Wichita.
Just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday, police responded to an injury accident involving a pedestrian versus a vehicle at the intersection of West Street and Murdock in Wichita, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.
First responders located Llamas who was pronounced deceased on the scene by EMS.
The investigation revealed that the 68-year-old was crossing from the west side to the east side of West Street and slightly south of Murdock when he was struck by a northbound Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by a 24-year-old woman.
Currently, neither speed nor impairment are believed to be contributing factors to the accident, according to Rebolledo.
