LYON COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 5:30a.m. Monday in Lyon County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2024 Van Hool Commuter bus operated by Greyhound and driven by Bonnie Scott, 53, Raytown, Missouri, was northbound on the Kansas Turnpike four miles north of Emporia.
The driver stated she started to feel tired. She fell asleep while driving. The Bus traveled off the roadway to the left and struck a delineator post on the shoulder causing damage to bus and complaint of pain to some of the occupants.
There were six passengers on the bus. EMS transported two passengers including 21-year-old Eriell Gallaher of Kansas City, Missouri and Curtis Booker, 34, Houston, Texas, to Newman Hospital. Scott was not injured.
