
SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a weekend shooting and have made an arrest.
Just after 4p.m.Saturday, police were sent to the area of SW Munson Avenue and SW Lincoln Street on a report of gunshots, according to Lt. Ron Ekis.
An individual with an apparent gunshot wound arrived at a local hospital by personal vehicle shortly thereafter. The person was reported in stable condition, according to Ekis.
Investigators determined that the incident took place in the 1100 block of SW Lincoln, the same location of the homicide that occurred on September 1, that left 24-year-old KeShawn Ivy dead.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested 20-year-old Corey Robinson of Topeka on requested charges, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Possession of a weapon by a felon, Theft of a firearm with a value less than $25,000, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.
Police are still investigating if the Saturday shooting may be linked to the fatal Sept. 1, shooting of Ivy, according to Monamith.
