LAWRENCE β€”An estimated 70,000 fans celebrated the University of Kansas National championship in downtown Lawrence on Monday night, according to Lawrence Police.

Lawrence's main downtown strip, Massachusetts Street, was crammed sidewalk to sidewalk as fans watched the game on an enormous flat-screen TV suspended high over the street from a construction lift.

According to a social media report, the police ended the party with minimal incidents. Preliminary reports show 3 arrests and one person issued a notice to appear without a physical arrest. None included serious injuries.
