SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a pair of shootings and have a suspect in custody.

Just before 3p.m. Tuesday, police went to an address in the 1600 block of SW Harrison in Topeka to try and locate 31 year old Samuel L. Portlock of Topeka, who was wanted in connection with two shooting incidents on Monday, according to Lt. Ron Ekis.

Officers had reason to believe he was hiding inside the residence and possibly armed with a weapon. TPD Crisis Negotiation Team and Response Team were asked to respond to assist with searching for the suspect.

Just after 6:15 p.m. police took Portlock into custody without incident. No one was injured during this incident. The suspect was taken to the LEC for questioning and then transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections and booked on requested charges of aggravated assault and other criminal charges, according to Ekis.
