WYANDOTTE COUNTY—Law enforcement investigating a deadly weekend shooting in Wyandotte County have identified the victim as 42-year-old Stephanie Butler, according to a media release from Kansas City, Kansas police.
At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Hasbrook Avenue in response to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male suspect at the scene, who was taken into custody without incident. Officers also located Butler who was pronounced deceased at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
Police have not released the name of the suspect or additional details.
