OSAGE COUNTY, Kan.—A former University of Kansas basketball player 21-year-old Gethro Muscadin was critically injured in an accident on the Kansas Turnpike just after 3a.m. Thursday in Osage County.
On Friday, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Ford passenger vehicle driven by Alaeyia Howard, 21, Wichita, was southbound on Interstate 335 in Osage County. The vehicle left the road, rolled and came to rest in a fence line.
EMS transported Howard and Muscadin to Stormont Vail in Topeka. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
The crash log does not list where Muscadin was living. He is native of Haiti and played in 11 games during the 20-21 season for the Jayhawks before transferring to the University of New Mexico. The 6-foot-10 Muscadin left the Lobo basketball program earlier this month, according to the school's basketball web site.
