SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas man in connection with a violent attack.

Just after 10 p.m. on Monday, police responded to an assault report at a home in the 3900 block of North Litchfield in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson

Upon arrival, officers contacted a 17-year-old girl who was visibly shaken and wet. The investigation revealed 19-year-old Dominic Thomas and the victim were talking near a pond at 37th Street North and Sullivan when a disturbance occurred.

During the disturbance, Thomas battered the girl, drug her to a nearby pond and held her head under the water. Thomas then released her and fled.

Officers later located Thomas, and he was arrested without further incident and booked him on requested charges of  attempted murder and aggravated kidnapping, according to Davidson.
