Police catch Kansas woman wanted on warrants from out of state

MORRIS COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas woman on multiple allegations after a traffic stop.

On June 24, police stopped a vehicle in the 10 block of S. 9th Street in Council Grove for an alleged traffic violation, according to a media release.

During the traffic stop, officers determined 34-year-old Tami Hewitt of Council Grove had multiple felony warrants for her arrest in Kansas and out of state.

She was arrested in July and again in December of 2022, according to online jail recored. She remains jailed on a $25,000 bond on a requested charge of failure to appear.
