LINN COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 5:30a.m. Saturday in Linn County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Brett Michael Johnson, 25, Fort Scott, was northbound on Front Street just north of Green Street in Prescott.
The vehicle crossed the the roadway to the left and struck a tree.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics. EMS transported a passenger Manon E Turpen, 21, Pleasanton, to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Johnson was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
