WICHITA – A federal grand jury in Wichita returned an indictment last week charging a Kansas man with one count of bank robbery.

According to court documents, on June 2, Roland K. Vandenberg, 55, allegedly robbed Emprise Bank in the 4800 Block of South Broadway Street in Wichita.

Officers learned that a suspect had entered the bank, demanded money, then left the bank northbound on Broadway.

Officers located a man matching the suspect description in the area. He was identified as Vandenberg.  Police booked him into the Sedgwick County Jail on a requested charge of robbery. He is no longer in custody, according to online jail records.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating the case.
