Tyler Atkins leads Blue Jay cross country at the Emporia Invitational

Tyler Atkins led the Junction City Blue Jay varsity runners in the Emporia Invitational with a fourth place finish in the boys varsity race in a time of 16:56.8. There were 62 runners in the race. 

Also for Junction City Hayden Diestelkamp finished 36th in 19:27.2, Neil Naputo 41st in 19:41.9, Blake Reed 42nd in 19:43.6 and Isaiah Smith 56th in 21:21.9. Junction City finished sixth out of ten squads in the meet.

In the girls competition the Lady Jays did not field a full team but did have four finishers led by Lorna Rae Pierce in 19th place in a time of 22:22.6. Katelyn Atkins finished 38th in 24:22.8, Murin Burkett 44th in 24:54.5 and Patience Okemba 59th in 23:15.0. 

Manhattan won both the boys and girls team titles.
