KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement investigating a deadly family fight at a home in Kansas City have identified the victim as 58-year-old Aaron Reece.
Just after noon Friday, police were dispatched to the 9700 block of Locust Street in Kansas City, Missouri, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez.
Upon arrival officers, located a man outside a townhouse who matched the suspect description provided in call notes. That individual was immediately taken into police custody for further questioning.
Officers checked the inside of the residence for any potential victims suffering from violent crime. First responders located Reece inside the townhouse suffering from apparent gunshot trauma and was unresponsive. EMS responded and immediately declared him deceased.
Preliminary investigation indicates this incident was a result of an argument between two family members that escalated into shots fired.
Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel responded to the scene to collect any evidence and gather witness statements.
