ELLIS COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating multiple thefts of oilfield equipment stolen from rural areas in northeastern Ellis County, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.
Oil industry operators have reported 3-inch tubing, oilfield construction tools and wiring being stolen from rig sites over the last week.
The loss value of the equipment is in the tens of thousands of dollars.
The sheriff's office is requesting the public's assistance in reporting any suspicious activity. Reports can be made by calling 911 or (785) 625-1040.
