WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) shared his thoughts after he and other members of a bipartisan delegation returned from Poland and Germany to gain more insight on needed security and humanitarian support for Ukraine.
“What I witnessed was an inspirational citizen of Ukraine, tremendous leadership from President Zelenksyy and a country willing to die and sacrifice for their freedom and liberty,” said Sen. Moran. “It’s a reminder that the stakes here are massive, and that we must provide the Ukrainian people with the tools they need to succeed. We ought not just provide enough humanitarian and lethal aid for them to survive – we must provide the necessary tools for them to win. It is immoral for us to do less; for us to allow these battles to continue day after day with the death of Ukrainians.”
“The reality is there is not a moment to lose,” continued Sen. Moran. “Every day matters in this fight against Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked, unjustified and immoral war against Ukraine. We are late now. We were late yesterday, and a slow march of bureaucratic policies and efforts does not save lives; it costs lives. We need to ensure our colleagues in the Senate, our colleagues in Congress and the Biden administration understand when we lose a moment, we lose a life.”
