Police ID body found as 40-year-old Kansas man

The Salina Police Department has identified the remains found in north Salina Monday morning.

According to a news release from the department issued this afternoon, the remains were those of 40-year-old Jason Hilary Patrick Latham of Salina.

An autopsy was completed and the toxicology results are pending.

As the investigation into Latham's death is ongoing, detectives are asking for the public's assistance regarding information about Latham's whereabouts and activities prior to his death.

"If you know where Mr. Latham has been staying, with whom he has been associating, or with whom he may have had contact after April 18, 2023, please contact Detective Aaron Carswell or Sgt. Kyle Tonniges with the Salina Police Department Detective Division at (785) 826-7210," the department noted in the news release.

Police dispatch received a call at 10:30 a.m. Monday from a person who reported finding a body in the 1900 block of N. Fifth Street. Officers responded and located the body.

"It was apparent the individual had been dead for several days," the Salina Police Department noted in a news release issued early Tuesday afternoon.
