USD 475 secondary schools (Junction City High School, Fort Riley Middle School, Junction City Middle School) will begin allowing spectators at events for HOME games only starting Tuesday, January 19th, 2021.

No visiting team fans will be allowed to attend events hosted by USD 475.  All games/events hosted by USD 475 will continue to be either streamed on the YouTube or on the Facebook pages of those schools, unless KSHSAA has exclusive streaming rights to the events.  Visiting team fans are encouraged to watch competitions on the appropriate channels:

Information regarding streaming of events will be communicated in advance by each school.  Spectator names will be collected for Junction City High School for contact tracing purposes, if necessary.

Criteria for attendance at events for Home fans:

Participants will be allowed to have TWO (2) spectators. Those two spectators must be parents/guardians/adults and will attend the event based on the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) guidelines below. Siblings, students that are not participating, and friends will not be permitted as spectators.

1. Participants include:

路 Players/participants
路 Coaches
路 Student Managers
路 Cheer squads/coaches
路 Dance teams/coaches
路 Pep bands/directors
路 Student Journalists

2. Coaches may have parents/guardians or spouse/significant other.

3. Children of coaches and administrators do not meet the definition approved by the KSHSAA.

4. School Board members do not meet the criteria established by the KSHSAA unless their child is an active participant.

5. Parents/guardians are permitted to watch only the game their student is participating in.  Parents/guardians may not stay for additional games, due to limits placed on the number of spectators allowed at each game.  Parents will be asked to leave immediately following the completion of their student鈥檚 participation.

6. Teams playing in that facility as part of a multi-game event may remain in the gym if they wear masks and maintain six feet of distance from all other players and spectators.

7. All spectators must be masked the entire time in facility, even if they are maintaining six feet of distance from others.

8. No substitutes are allowed for parent/guardian/adult if they are unable to attend as a spectator.

9. Event staff are permitted to have a parent/guardian or spouse attendance.

10. The impacted interscholastic activities include basketball, bowling, debate, forensics/speech, scholars bowl, swimming & diving, and wrestling.

Attendance requirements for events at USD 475 will continue to be reviewed throughout the winter sports season and will be adjusted based on local health department, district, and state guidance as needed/allowed.  Our number one goal is to provide our student-athletes in USD 475 a continued opportunity to participate in activities under the safest environment possible.
