Police 91-year-old Salina man dies in pedestrian crash

SALINA  —A Kansas man was killed Monday afternoon when he was struck by an SUV near Oakdale Park in Salina.

According to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester, Just after 4:30p.m. Monday, a 2015 GMC Acadia driven by Gary Hindman, 82, Salina, had just turned westbound onto the 600 Block of Oakdale Drive from South Oakdale Avenue when Hindman reportedly became light headed and dizzy and possibly blacked out.

The Acadia struck a 1992 Nissan Frontier pickup that was parked on Oakdale Drive and James Price, 91, Salina who was standing in the street next to the pickup.

The accident remains under investigation.  A medical condition may have been a contributing factor to the accident, according to Forrester.
