Junction City rolled up 398 yards of total offense enroute to a 54-20 win over the Topeka High Trojans ( 1-2 ) at Al Simpler Stadium. Blue Jay quarterback Andrew Khoury completed 19 ot 25 passes for 208 yards three touchdowns while Russell Wilkey caught ten passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns in the victory which left Junction City 5-1 on the season.
Coach Randall Zimmerman liked the way his team started the ballgame. "Kids came out and they were crisp, and it looked like we had put together a pretty good week of practice. I'm just very proud of these kids."
Junction City led 40-0 at halftime and had an opportunity to play many of the reserves in the second half. The Blue Jays host Emporia next Friday.
It was homecoming at JCHS. Taylor Strickland was named the queen and Andrew Khoury the king.
In the other classes, Jayda Harris was selected to be the junior class princess and Damarion Sellers the prince. For the sophomores Emily Varnado was the princess and Logan Nabus the prince, and in the freshman class Sara Rexrode was named the princess and Jayson Harris the prince.
