Downtown Revitalization team is extending an invitation for everyone to visit downtown and enjoy the business Christmas decorations. From November 30th until noon on December 4th, more than 25 businesses will be participating in the downtown business Christmas decorating competition.
The People's Choice Award, which will include a $250 gift certificate, will be determined by the community. Ballot boxes and ballots can be found in the businesses identified with an asterisk, below. The winning businesses will be notified on the evening of December 4th.
In addition to the People's Choice Award, there are several celebrity judges who will select the top three businesses for the three Judge's Choice Awards. The judges include Frank and Ginger Corcoran with Geary Community Hospital, Allen and Paula Dinkel with the City of Junction City, Willie Thornberg with Jim Clark Automobiles, Trish Giordano with Geary County, and General O'Connor with Ft. Riley. Gift certificates will be presented with 1st place receiving $250, 2nd place $100, and 3rd place $50. Gift certificates will be used to shop downtown.
