SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for burglary and made an arrest after a standoff.
Just after 8 p.m. Monday, police were in the 2400 block of SE Illinois in Topeka looking for an adult male suspect identified as 46 year old Elias Solis in connection with several felonies, according to Lt. Ron Ekis.
Officers had reason to believe Solis had barricaded himself inside his home. The Topeka Police Response Team and Crisis Negotiators responded to the scene.
Just before 10:30p.m. police took Solis into custody without incident and transported him to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning. They later booked Solis into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on the requested charges of Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery and Aggravated Burglary, according Lt. John Trimble.
