BARTON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kanas man on drug charges after an arrest in Great Bend.

On Tuesday afternoon, detectives conducted  a “buy/bust” operation, according to sheriff Brian Bellendir.

This is a type of drug sting in which an operative purchases drugs from a suspect with money which has had the serial numbers recorded.

Once the transaction is made, the suspect is immediately arrested and taken into custody. Surveillance of both parties is conducted during the sting.

During the drug sting in the 500 Block of Frey Street, deputies arrested Frank Relmar Jr., 32 of Great Bend.

Relmar was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Barton County Jail. He is currently being held on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. His bond is set at $50,000.
