SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for alleged child sex crimes.

Just before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a check welfare call at a local elementary school in Wichita, according to Officer Trevor Macy.

Investigators interviewed a child who had reported being sexually assaulted by a man who is known to her.

Officers located the man identified 30-year-old Christopher Moore. They transported him to the Exploited and Missing Child Unit where detectives interviewed him and later booked him on requested charges that include two counts of rape involving a child under the age of 13. He is being held on a $500,000 bond, according to online jail records.
