Kansas teen jailed after drug task force investigation

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities arrested a Kansas teen as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

On Wednesday, members of the Topeka Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Shawnee County Drug Task Force served a search warrant in the 2800 Block of SE Minnesota in Topeka, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

While conducting the search warrant, authorities found 18-year-old Yancy Whitehead, had marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm.

Officers transported Whitehead to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges that include, Aggravated endangering a child; reckless situation, Possession of marijuana with the intent for distribution, Possession of drug paraphernalia with intent and No drug tax stamp for marijuana or controlled substance, according to Monasmith.
