SEDGWICK COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 9p.m. on Saturday in Wichita.
Police responded to the injury accident at Hillside and Zimmerly involving a silver 2003 Dodge Neon and a black 2014 Chevy Suburban, according to officer Charley Davidson.
Upon arrival, officers contacted the 21-year-old driver of the Neon who had critical injuries. He was taken to an area hospital where he died, according to Davidson.
The investigation revealed a 43-year-old female was driving the Suburban along with three passengers and turned south on Hillside from Zimmerly. The 21-year-old in the Dodge was northbound on Hillside and struck the Suburban, causing his fatal injuries. The occupants of the Suburban were not injured.
Speed and alcohol involving the Neon are believed to a factor in the accident, according to Davidson. Police have not released names of the drivers.
