Sheriff: Kan. man was driving motorcycle stolen in Oklahoma

MONTGOMERY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for alleged theft.

Just before 11p.m.April 18, a a sheriff's deputy located a 2011 Harley Davidson Motorcycle near the intersection of US 160 highway and County Road 4410, east of Independence, Kansas, according to Sheriff Ron Wade.

During routine procedures, it was discovered that the motorcycle was reported stolen from Osage County, Oklahoma. The Deputy placed the driver, identified as 37-year-old Eugene Laurens of Independence, under arrest for possession of stolen property.

Laurens was transported to the Montgomery County Department of Corrections. He is no longer in custody.
