Kansas woman gave police fake name during traffic stop

BARTON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects on drug and other charges after a traffic stop

Just after 5p.m. July 17, a police officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2700 block of 10th Street in Great Bend for an equipment violation on a 2006 Hyundai Elantra, according to a media release from police.

During the stop, Police Service Dog, Menta was deployed and conducted a free air sniff around the exterior of the vehicle and indicated to the presence of illegal narcotics.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, and an amount of controlled substances including marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia were located.

Police arrested 23-year-old Sabrina Carr and 21-year-old Joshua Carey and transported to the Barton County Jail.

Carr also provided a false name and was booked for interference with law enforcement.  Both Carr and Carey were booked on multiple outstanding warrants.
