Kansas felon charged in woman's murder

SEDGWICK COUNTY—A man accused in the death of a woman in March of 2021 made a first court appearance Monday.

Jon Lovell, 42 of Wichita, is charged with 1st degree murder, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.

Attorneys are scheduled to discuss future dates in the case (22CR1953) on 5/1/23. He is in jail on a half-million dollar bond.

on Lovell has been charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of Natasha Arvidson in 2021.

In March of 2021, police responded to a home in the 10600 Block of West Taft in Wichita, according to Officer Charley Davidson.

First responders found the body of 38-year-old Natasha Arvidson. The suspect, later identified as Lovell took her 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis and fled the crime scene.  Police booked him in the Sedgwick County jail on Thursday.  

Lovell has previous convictions for aggravated robbery, flee or attempt to elude law enforcement, giving false alarm, DUI, Driving while habitual violator, and for drugs, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.

Lovell's bond has been set at $500,000 and will next appear in court on May 1.
