SEDGWICK COUNTY— On Monday, a jury found 20-year-old Roames Bonner guilty of First-Degree Murder, two counts of Aggravated Battery, and two counts of Criminal Discharge of a Firearm, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office.
The charges are related to a February 19, 2024, shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 1-year-old child and gunshot wounds to two women.
The incident stemmed from an argument over an Amazon package, according to prosecutors.
Just after 7p.m. February 19, 2024 police responded to a shooting in the 2500 block of South Oliver, according to Police Lt. Aaron Moses. Through the investigation, officers learned that two women were struck by gunfire and 1-year-old Taidyn Anderson of Wichita was also struck by gunfire and died of his injuries at a hospital.
Bonner is the last of three suspects charged in the case.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 13, 2026, before Judge Jeffrey Goering.
