SEDGWICK COUNTY—The mask mandate for the state's largest school district will continue through Friday. During Monday's USD 259-Wichita  Public School Board meeting, the board members, by a 4-2 vote, rejected a motion to immediately remove the mask mandate. The district begins Spring Break on Friday.

The Board did approve to add no masks on school buses as of March 10 consistent with CDC guidelines.

A motion to have signage mentioning masks or COVID on district buildings was also defeated.
