Sheriff seeks information about woman found at Lake Shawnee

SHAWNEE COUNTY– Law enforcement authorities  are seeking any information regarding a 61-year-old woman found at Lake Shawnee early Saturday morning.

Just before 6:15 a.m., August 29, first responders were dispatched to Lake Shawnee’s Overlook parking lot near SE 29th and West Edge Road reference a medical call, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.

Upon arrival, they found a disoriented 61-year-old white female in need of medical attention. The woman was unable to provide any information on how she arrived at Lake Shawnee or how she sustained injuries.

EMS transported her to a local hospital for treatment.

It is believed earlier that morning, she was picked up near SW 29th Street and Oakley Avenue by an unknown person or persons and transported to Lake Shawnee.

Detectives are asking to speak to those individuals who transported her, the individual who found her and anyone with knowledge of how she might have arrived at Lake Shawnee.
