
KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement investigating a homicide in Kansas City, Missouri have identified the victim as 27-year-old Jerome A. Hawkins, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
Just before 1:30a.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Hardesty on an ambulance in route call for service. Call notes indicated there was an individual lying on the ground, unresponsive.
As officers arrived they located Hawkins on the sidewalk. He appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds. KCFD EMS arrived simultaneously and pronounced Hawkins deceased on scene. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide and there is no one in custody, according to DiMartino.
