
SEDGWICK COUNTY —The Wichita Police Department needs the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the driver of a Ford F-150 in connection to a fatal shooting, according to officer Kevin Wheeler.
Just after 7:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to a shooting call in the 600 block of South Armour Drive in Wichita.
Upon arrival, officers located 27-year-old Miguel Tapia outside of a gray Nissan Pathfinder with gunshot wounds. Tapia was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The investigation has revealed that Tapia was inside the Pathfinder when a disturbance broke out, and he was shot.
The driver of the teal F150 was in the area during the time of the incident and may have information that could help investigators. The truck driver is not a suspect in connection with case, according to Wheeler.
