Woman, 16-year-old dead after Kan. crash with semi

PRATT COUNTY —Two people died in an accident just after 4:30a.m. Monday in Pratt County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Hyundai Elantra driven by Jamie M. Swavely, 42, St. Louis, Missouri was overtaking two semis westbound on U.S. 54 in a no passing zone

A 1983 Peterbilt semi driven by Juan Manuel Martinez, 54, Dodge City, then struck the Hyundai in the eastbound lane 

Two passenger in the Hyundai Elizabeth Jean Glenn, 60 and  Jayden Marie Swavley, 16, both of St. Louis, Missouri, were pronounced dead at the scene and were transported to Larrison Mortuary. 

EMS transported Jamie Swavely to the hospital in Pratt. Martinez was not injured.  Jayden Swavely was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
