RCPD: Suspect pretended to work for the lottery in scam

MANHATTAN—Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged theft by deception scam in Manhattan.

Just after 1:30p.m.  Friday, officers filed a report for theft by deception in the 1000 block of Houston Street in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.

An 80-year-old man reported an unknown suspect scammed them by pretending to work for the lottery.  The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,900.00, according to the RCPD.
