Police: Firearm threat prompts evacuation of Kan. Walmart

CLOUD COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating an incident that prompted the evacuation of a business in Cloud County.

Just after noon Monday, officers from the Concordia Police Department along with Deputies from the Cloud County Sheriff’s Department and Troopers from the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to a Criminal Threat from a subject stating that they were going to bring a firearm to Walmart, according to Police Chief Ric Fredrickson.

Officers were able to quickly and safely evacuate the building while the threat was investigated. After securing the area and a thorough search of the building by Officers, Walmart was allowed to reopen without incident.
