Police ID Kansas woman who died in 2-vehicle crash

TOPEKA — Law enforcement authorities investigating a fatality crash that occurred Friday morning in Central Topeka have identified the victim as 65-year-old Kathleen E. Bryson of Topeka, according to police department spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.

Just after 5:45 a.m. police were dispatched to the intersection of SW 10th Avenue and SW Washburn Avenue on a report of an injury accident involving two vehicles, according to Spiker. Both vehicles had single occupants and no passengers.

Bryson sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash. American Medical Response transported her to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

 The other driver involved in the crash sustained minor injuries, according to Spiker.  The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

 The other driver involved in the crash sustained minor injuries, according to Spiker.  Police have not released names of the drivers.

SW 10th Avenue between SW Garfield Avenue and SW Lane Street were closed while officers investigate.
