SALINE COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating after a vehicle crash in to a home early Wednesday in Salina.
Just before 4a.m. Wednesday, a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was northbound on Montrose Street, ran the stop sign at West South Street, continued across West South Street and into the yard of 918 West South Street, striking the front porch of the residence, according to Salina Police Capt. Paul Forrester. The front of the vehicle was completely under the porch.
Five people were in the home at the time of the crash. They were not injured. A witness observed two suspects running from the scene, according to Forrester.
The registered owner told police that the car was recently sold. A city inspector was called in to check the porch as there was a concern of it collapsing. Police released no additional details.
