Geary County CVB Advisory Committee members voted on Tuesday in favor of installing a CVB sign on the front of the 222 West 6th Street building  where they are currently housed.

This would be a five by ten foot sign that will be installed on the front, or south side of the building toward the west end of the structure at a cost of $4,300.

Florence Whitebread, CVB Advisory Committee Chair, noted that the sign will be lighted. "So I think it will be a great addition to let people know where CVB really is located. " Whitebread said the sign will read CVB with the organization's logo with the yellow and blue stripes.

The sign is movable in the event the Convention and Visitor's Bureau changes their office location in the future. Their rental agreement at the 222 West 6th Street location comes to an end at the end of this year.

"I think once the new sign goes up it will advertise the CVB and will be a great place for the community,"said Whitebread. On whether the CVB will be kept in the West 6th Street building because of the sign she said not necessarily. "This sign is movable so that has to be debated."
